The first inspections of 2018 took place on Saturday, 30th June in Ballymacarbury, Co. Waterford. Two stallions came out, along with six mares and one gelding. Results were mixed - 3 ponies received Class 1, 2 received Class 2 and 4 received Class 3.
The Inspectors, Mary Moore from Carlow, and Marian Condren from Laois, used the revised Inspection forms for the first time since their review at the 2017 Judging Seminar. Working independently they each assessed and marked the ponies after a thorough viewing, giving the owner a lot of constructive comments and advice on the forms.
As always they felt that many of the ponies failed to do themselves justice in the way they stood up and the way they moved.
The beautiful weather and location of Tooracurra along with the wonderful hospitality offered on the day made it a most enjoyable day
